Keeping Up on WordPress Plugin Vulnerabilities

With all the security issues coming up of late within the WordPress community, the new plugin for WordPress Plugin Vulnerabilities seems like an idea whose time has come. It tracks known/reported vulnerabilities and lets you know if any of your site plugins have issues. It can even be set up to email the administrator of the website if a vulnerability is found (this feature is not activated by default though). The trick will be, of course, if it stays up to date. My guess is that this plugin, or one like it, is ripe for inclusion in JetPack some day. I’ve decided to try it out on my own site, so perhaps I’ll have more to report on this in a few months.
