Help Defend Internet Freedoms by Using a “Cat Signal” on your Website
Chris Reynolds has built a cool plugin for WordPress which will turn on notices from the Internet Defense League whenever an alert is active. For instance, today (Sept 10, 2014) has been declared an “Internet Slowdown” day. By installing the nifty Cat Signal plugin, notices will automatically appear on your site – but only when an alert is active! Once installed, you can literally help defend the Internet without lifting a finger.
You have the choice of a banner placement:
Or a modal box:
You can also choose whether it displays on all pages, just the home page, or a specific page. Best of all you don’t need to think about turning the notice on or off. If there’s not an active alert when you install it, you can even test the plugin by simply adding “?_idl_test=1” to your site’s URL.
