I’m trying out the WP Meetup Plugin from the folks over at Nuanced Media. It connects to Meetup.com to pull a list of upcoming meetups and display them on your WordPress site. With it, I’ve created the new Meetups page on this site as well as a meetup listing in the sidebar on the right. The plugin allows you to easily add as many Meetup groups as you wish and color code them to differentiate them. You just need to have an account on Meetup.com.
These are still some minor bugs with the plugin, the most noticeable of which is that it uses the URL of the Meetup.com group instead of displaying the actual group name. I’ve added some jQuery to address this. I also added some styling to adjust the presentation. But otherwise, it’s a lovely plugin. I hope the spend the time to make the presentation a bit cleaner in a future release.
