Tonight’s featured topic: Using Google Tag Manager to measure the effectiveness of your WordPress website

Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a free tool that allows one to manage and deploy marketing tags (snippets of code or tracking pixels) on your website or mobile app without having to modify the code of the site itself. The tool integrates with many different data analysis tools, including Google Analytics, thereby providing a way to track various types of events, such as PDF downloads and clicks on buttons or outbound links. Advanced applications such as complex e-commerce product and promotion tracking are also possible. We’ll walk through the basic process to set up a GTM account, install GTM on a website, create, test and deploy an example tag, and view the results generated by the tag in Google Analytics.
